In the beginning of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" we hear a monologue by Criswell that begins, "Greetings, my friends. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives." That was the inspiration for the opening to DM. The narrator talks about Man's ever increasing arsenal of weapons as we show stock footage from the 1950s.
